Kari LaOrden is a contemporary artist based in Southwest Florida. Her paintings and mixed media works are based on personal narrative with a focus on balanced compositions, color harmony and visual texture. Each project capturing a moment in time, a feeling or abstract concept; stripped down into its rawest form of simplicity.

Her explorations of storytelling evoke a sense of structured calm to demonstrate order and regulation. This serves in contrast to the concept of chaos and confusion, illustrated through layering, surface irregularities and elevations. Artfully defined by thoughtful use of pattern, color-blocking or tone on tone subtleties; her compositions masterfully depict a sense of scale and equilibrium. Utilizing wide brayer brushstrokes and a palette of neutral hues, her paintings have a discernible depth in peaceful serenity.
